Coffee in a freezer? 😳

☕ Why is proper coffee storage so important?

Specialty coffee is like fine wine – with a delicate flavor profile that can quickly deteriorate if not stored properly. Immediately after roasting, coffee begins to lose its aromatic compounds, so it’s crucial to protect it from its greatest enemies:

❌ The 4 most common enemies of fresh coffee:

1. Air – causes oxidation, which destroys aromas.

2. Heat – accelerates the aging process.

3. Light – UV rays can damage the oils in coffee.

4. Moisture – causes sticking, mold and loss of quality.

✅ How to store coffee properly?

• Store coffee in its original bag with a one-way valve or in an opaque, hermetically sealed container.

• Always store coffee in a cool, dry, dark place – not in the refrigerator!

• Grind the beans just before brewing – ground coffee loses its aroma much faster.

📦 What about freezing?

Freezing can be an effective solution if you want to store a large amount of coffee for a long time. But be careful: the beans should be sealed in an airtight container to avoid condensation. Once you have thawed a portion, do not refreeze it.

➡️ Properly stored coffee = a better cup. Make sure every sip retains its character and aroma!
